Overview
Bluebeam Revu is the primary PDF markup and collaboration tool used by Gridworks engineering and project teams. This article covers how to request a Bluebeam license, install or update the software, and troubleshoot common issues.
Requesting a Bluebeam License
Bluebeam is a licensed software. Before installing, you must have a license assigned to you. To request a license:
- Submit a helpdesk ticket with your full name, email address, and department
- Include your manager's name for approval
- Specify whether you need Bluebeam Revu Standard or Revu eXtreme
License requests are typically fulfilled within 1–2 business days.
Installing Bluebeam Revu
Once a license has been assigned, IT will provide installation instructions or remotely install the software on your computer. If you need to install it yourself:
- Download the Bluebeam Revu installer from the IT software portal or as directed by IT
- Run the installer and follow the on-screen prompts
- When prompted, sign in with your work email address to activate your license
- If activation fails, contact IT – your license may need to be assigned first
Note: Admin rights may be required for installation. If you receive a permissions error, contact IT and we will assist with the install.
Updating Bluebeam Revu
Bluebeam updates are managed by IT. If you see a prompt to update Bluebeam or if you are experiencing issues caused by an outdated version:
- Submit a helpdesk ticket requesting a Bluebeam update
- IT will either push the update remotely or provide you with installation instructions
- Admin credentials are required to apply updates – do not attempt to update without IT assistance if you do not have admin rights
Common Issues
Bluebeam won't open or crashes: Try restarting your computer first. If the issue persists, submit a helpdesk ticket.
License not recognized / activation error: Ensure you are signed in with the correct work email. Contact IT if the issue continues.
Unable to print from Bluebeam: Check your printer settings and ensure the Bluebeam PDF printer is installed. Submit a ticket if the issue persists.
